 ATF Flush

VCT Systems provide a Automatic Transmission flush and fluid exchange treatment.

What is a Flush?

A flush of the Automatic transmission is the removal of debris, pollutant and dirt which builds up in vital components.

This treatment is carried out before replacing the old fluid with a new one.

Why is this service important?

All automatic transmissions require a service and replacement of the oil to maintain good heat dispersion and lubrication.

Automatic transmissions run on high temperature which puts a lot of strain on the fluid. This leads to the breakdown of important additives, oxidation and loss of viscosity.

In time acidity, rust and sludge levels increase within the housing. These all lead to transmission failure.

It is recommended to change the transmission oil every 30.000 to 40.000 miles.

ATF Flushing-Why does it make such a difference?

Main dealer's say that the transmission fluid is long life and should never be changed. How can a lubricant be long life and if so why do we need to change the engine oil regularly?

In an ideal world, we would probably change the ATF Fluid much more regularly. Manufacturers know that this service period CAN be stretched and take advantage of lower servicing costs.

The fluid condition is much more important than most, as it transmits all of the power from the engine to the transmission and works between 0 and 150 degrees!

Slight deterioration will affect the abilities of the gearbox ECU to read correctly.

Bad old fluid will mask readings and the vehicle will respond by reducing power and adapting the gearbox to offer a level of protection.

Once flushed and exchanged a vehicle will quickly adapt and reset the parameters, allowing the vehicle to run much more like it should.
